Welcome to the Retailer Toolkit sponsored by the Better Sleep Council
Year-round, the Better Sleep Council reaches out to consumers through the media and online with messages to help Americans make the connection between quality of life and sleeping on a quality mattress, with emphasis on the importance of regular mattress replacement to ensure a good night's sleep. To support retailers' local marketing and PR activities, the BSC and Sleep Savvy have created an online toolkit, with downloadable materials and artwork based on the BSC's messages. Some of the materials have been developed for the annual "May is Better Sleep Month" campaign. For May 2010, the focus is on achieving better health through a good night's sleep. Below is a Better Sleep Month 2010 press release that can be customized and distributed to media in your market, together with other materials to help educate consumers and store customers. Also available are several versions of the council's popular Better Sleep Guide booklet for consumers, plus links to help you educate your customers online!
Backed by mattress research Research conducted at Oklahoma State University has added groundbreaking scientific support for the BSC's key messages. The research shows significant improvements in back comfort, sleep quality and stress levels when participants switched from their old mattresses (5 years old or older) to brand new mattresses, underscoring the importance of evaluating mattresses for replacement every 5-7 years.
