Mary Best is the editorial director for BedTimes and Sleep Savvy magazines. She’s also the editor in chief of Sleep Savvy. She joined the ISPA publications team in 2011.
Mary has worked as a magazine editor for more than 25 years. Prior to joining ISPA, she served as editor of Our State: Down Home in North Carolina, The Net: Your Cyberspace Companion and United Airlines inflight magazine. She also worked as special projects editor for Furniture/Today. Mary holds a bachelor’s degree in English and history as well as a master’s degree in American history from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is based in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Editor at Large – David Perry

David Perry is the editor at large for BedTimes and Sleep Savvy magazines. He is a veteran bedding editor and joined the ISPA publications team in January 2021.
Previously, Perry was an editor and writer for Furniture Today, which he joined in 1983. During his tenure, he held a number of roles, including bedding editor, assistant managing editor, managing editor, and, since 1997, executive editor. In addition to being a seasoned editor and journalist, he also has hosted the Furniture Today Bedding Conference, a popular event for the bedding industry since 2006.

Barbara T. Nelles is content editor of BedTimes and Sleep Savvy. Her mattress industry experience spans more than 20 years. Her current focus is on producing and editing content for print and Web.
She is a student of new technology and of content strategy, SEO, user experience and site analytics, in particular. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from Drew University and a diversified writing, editing and marcom background. She is based in San Diego.
Managing Editor – Beth English

Beth English is managing editor of BedTimes and Sleep Savvy magazines.
She is a seasoned communications professional and editor, and joined the ISPA publications staff from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she served as associate director of editorial services. During her 15-year career with the university, she worked as editor of UNCG Magazine and UNCG Research magazine, which garnered numerous regional and national awards during her tenure. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and of UNCG with a master’s in liberal studies, she worked as a reporter for several North Carolina newspapers and as public information officer with the Asheboro City Schools before joining UNCG. Beth is based in Greensboro, North Carolina.
