Independent producer Bowles Mattress Co. is hosting an open house to celebrate its 50th anniversary on Thursday, May 15, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at its factory located at 1220 Watt Street in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
According to a news release, Bowles Mattress Co. was founded in 1975 by George and Opal Bowles and has grown into a regional bedding supplier for retailers and consumers across Indiana, Kentucky, and Southern Ohio. In addition to residential mattresses, the company also supplies beds for hotels, state lodges, college dorms, nursing homes and more, including custom specialty mattresses for everything from antique frames to extra-long beds for athletes. Every Bowles mattress is made using high-grade foams, materials and spring systems — including Certi-PUR-US Certified Foam.
Company officials said that Bowles is also a pro-employee organization that supports the Jeffersonville community, offering generous benefits, profit sharing and appreciation initiatives that have helped the company achieve an average employee tenure of nearly 19 years.
