Mebane, North Carolina-based luxury mattress manufacturer Kingsdown Inc. is debuting the Silent Partner XTech line at Sleep Country Canada. The all-new collection, exclusive to the long-time retail partner with 307 stores, features Kingsdown’s new XTech technology, designed to wick away built-up electrons to reduce tension and help consumers achieve deeper, more restful sleep.
“Our bodies are on an internal clock, releasing high amounts of melatonin at night to aid sleep and high amounts of cortisol in the morning to power our activity during the day,” said Kingsdown chairman Mike James. “When the body sleeps, it charges up electrons, which have been proven to stimulate the production of cortisol, leading to insomnia and sleep disruption. Our new XTech technology has been created to remove these built-up electrons to support the more restful nights that consumers are seeking.”
According to a news release, the new mattresses are available exclusively at Sleep Country Canada in extra firm tight top, firm tight top and two varieties of EuroTop. Each mattress features the all-new XTech technology incorporated into three distinct layers: XTech Carbon — a specialty fabric woven with trilobal carbon thread in the quilting layer that captures and releases electrons into the air; XTech Cool — two heat-releasing graphite strips intersecting in the middle of the mattress, providing temperature regulation; and XTech Coil — a system beneath the top two layers that combines Kingsdown’s new Wave Coils with motion separation construction and dual reinforced-edge support coils for added support throughout the night.
With consumers gravitating to technologies that aim to improve sleep quality, including carbon technology was the logical next step for the brand, according to Sleep Country Canada’s President and CEO Stewart Schaefer.
