Top-of-bed maker DreamFit has named sleep products industry veteran Chealen Martin president of the Cullman, Alabama-based company.
According to a news release, Martin has a 14-year career in the industry with leadership roles at Englander, Casper and Tempur + Sealy. He will report to Jerry Wootten and Jeremy Wootten, CEO and president, respectively, at parent company HomTex Inc. The Woottens held similar roles at Dreamfit prior to Martin’s appointment.
“Chealen’s industry knowledge, relationships and energy will help us take our brand to the next level of,” Jeremy Wootten said. “As our business has grown significantly over the past several years and HomTex has become a more diversified manufacturing company, we wanted to bring on an established leader to take the tiller at DreamFit and solely focus on its operations.”
According to Martin, he first met the Woottens when he was at Tempur + Sealy and has always been impressed with their quality, innovation and vision for the top-of-bed category.
“There is a tremendous opportunity today to build upon the success of DreamFit, and I am honored to have been chosen to lead the company at this time,” Martin said.
Before joining DreamFit, Martin was the president of Englander and director of wholesale for North America at Casper, where he opened several major retail accounts for the brand. As field sales manager at Tempur + Sealy, Martin worked with and created training programs for major retailers.
Martin received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama, where he majored in finance, and his Master of Business Administration degree from Auburn University, the news release said.
