Chicago, Illinois-based Englander plans to commemorate and celebrate its milestone 130th anniversary throughout 2024, as it continues to lead with innovation and a commitment to quality, according to company officials.
“Englander’s rich history has made a real difference in the quality of life for generations of Americans by providing better sleep, the foundation for human potential and performance,” said Englander CEO Mark Kinsley. “We are proud to commemorate our heritage of supporting American ingenuity and entrepreneurship as we launch new initiatives to propel Englander into the future.”
The licensing group will kick off the anniversary celebration at Las Vegas Market, Jan. 28-31. Englander will display a 20-foot-wide historical timeline in its revamped showroom, C-1596. A special exhibition will feature a curated collection of more than 40 historic print advertisements that offer a visual journey through its evolution in marketing and product design.
The exhibit traces the company’s roots, highlighting key milestones, such as founder Max Englander’s 1894 mission to provide exceptional sleep. Others include its latex foam partnership with Goodyear, the introduction of its Tension Ease line, and its global expansion.
Memorializing Leadership and Community Engagement
While Englander marks 130 years, the company is also celebrating the life of its former CEO, Kevin Toman, who passed away in December 2023. To honor his dedication and service to the industry, the company will introduce the Kevin Toman Sales Leadership Award. This accolade will recognize outstanding achievements in sales and service, celebrating the ethos exemplified by Toman.
Digital Integration and Global Outreach
Throughout 2024, Englander will share its history via a social media campaign inviting customers to engage with its storied past. Additionally, the company will strengthen its international ties at ISPA EXPO 2024 in March, showcasing its global presence and commitment to the international community.
As Englander embarks on its 131st year, the company remains steadfast in its commitment to innovation, quality and enhancing the sleep experience for customers worldwide, according to a news release.
Kinsley said the anniversary is both a celebration of the past and a stepping stone toward a future of continued excellence and growth in the bedding industry.
