The Sept/Oct issue of Sleep Savvy covered how AI is revolutionizing retail, from creating immersive shopping experiences for customers to ushering in a new era in analytics and automation. Another way AI is reshaping retail is by creating a new approach to sales rep training, like San Francisco, California-based startup FullyRamped, a platform designed for sales reps and their managers.

According to a news release, the company’s AI-powered “Practice Prospects” creates custom personas for sales reps to engage with to refine their skills by mimicking the progression of real sales calls in real time with natural-sounding voices. FullyRamped states that this “allows representatives to practice their pitch and objection handling with a variety of personas without burning real leads.” The company’s goal is to reduce the cost of internal sales academies while accelerating the onboarding process of junior sales reps and increasing their skills with unlimited practice opportunities.

“Our goal is to help companies develop their human capital,” said Aaron Marks, founder of FullyRamped. “We believe that AI is a tool that will be used by humans, not replace them. People still prefer talking to people, especially in high-stakes B2B sales conversations.”

Although FullyRamped’s current focus is tech sales, it’s easy to see how it could be applied to the bedding industry in the near future. The startup recently announced it has raised $2.3 million in a pre-seed funding round led by BoxGroup, MaC Venture Capital, NOMO Ventures, Greylock and Sequoia.
