Last summer, GhostBed, the Plantation, Florida-based online mattress retailer and manufacturer of boxed beds, raffled off six pairs of custom Air Jordan 1s, complete with a tiny ghost as a nod to its logo. For the January Las Vegas Market, the company returned with another unique giveaway, this time three tennis balls signed by tennis star Venus Williams. To enter, showroom visitors dropped off business cards. The winners were Melissa Laguerre, buyer at Pottery Barn; Kevin Split, director of merchandising and bedding at City Furniture; and Edwin Shoffner, president of Mattress by Appointment.
The contest paid homage to Venus Williams’ history with GhostBed, including her Venus Williams Collection of mattresses, which she helped design. According to a news release, the collection focuses on health, recovery and performance optimization. The line features four models, the Venus Williams Legend Mattress (available exclusively on GhostBed.com), and the Venus Williams Ace, Venus Williams Volley and Venus Williams Serve, available through GhostBed’s retail partners. All models include Venus FIT (far infrared technology layers), which the company states utilizes heat-activated technology to absorb body temperature to regulate sleep climate, promote blood circulation and enhance well-being.
