Tacoma, Washington-based Relief Bed International has donated 200 beds to LA County wildfire relief through its longtime partner, World Vision US.
According to a news release, World Vision US shipped 11 truckloads of emergency supplies to 13 partners and held 10 distribution events to support families affected by the wildfires during the first week of its response.
“In the second week, World Vision is shipping an additional 10 loads of emergency response supplies to various partners,” said Michael Gillespie, senior director of corporate engagement at World Vision, based in Federal Way, Washington. “This shipment includes beds donated by our long-term partner Relief Bed International. These beds will provide dignity and comfort to displaced families, helping them achieve better rest to face the challenges ahead. We are profoundly grateful to Relief Bed International for their heart to serve and provide hope during such a difficult time.”
Scott Smalling, founder of Relief Bed International, extended a heartfelt “thank you’” to those who have responded and asked for continued support of the partnership’s relief efforts. “As we strive to build an inventory for future emergencies, we kindly ask everyone to consider donating at least one Relief Bed,” Smalling said. “Your contributions provide the foundation for our ongoing mission to serve those in need.”
