Specialty bedding manufacturer and retailer Sleep Number Corp. has launched its new ClimateCool smart bed, which actively cools and adjusts to both sleepers, ideal for couples with different sleep needs and preferences.
According to a news release, Sleep Number’s latest smart bed builds on the active temperature technology of its Climate360 smart bed, which cools and warms on both sides. In addition to adjustable firmness on each side, the new ClimateCool delivers cooling relief for each sleeper, actively drawing warm air away from their body. Plus, it features scientifically backed cooling programs, developed in partnership with research conducted at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. The new smart bed is available as part of Sleep Number’s new Climate Series, a collection of smart beds designed with active air technology and individualized temperature control.
“Our new ClimateCool smart bed and partnership with world-class researchers at Northwestern University supports all sleepers in their need to sleep comfortably in their optimal cooling environment,” said Shelly Ibach, chair, president and CEO, of the Minneapolis-based Sleep Number.
Sleep Number’s ClimateCool smart bed features advanced cooling technology designed to enhance sleep comfort. A dynamic airflow system draws excess heat away from the body, while cooling ceramic gel layers and a breathable surface provide effective cooling for both sleepers., the news release said.
Company officials said that Sleep Number’s new SmartTemp Programs were developed in partnership with research conducted at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. These cooling programs automatically adjust through the night to meet individual sleep needs. Program options include “All Night Cooling” to ease hot flashes, “Deep Sleep Cooling” to minimize sleep disruptions and custom programs personalized to individual needs and preferences,
Along with its cooling programs, the ClimateCool smart bed features the FlexFit 2 smart adjustable base, which allows unlimited head and foot positions, with adjustments to individual shapes, positions, temperature preferences and each partner’s ideal levels of firmness — their Sleep Number setting. The Sleep Number smart beds also combine AI and sleep science to track biosignals, helping users improve their overall sleep quality, the company stated.
“The smart bed’s cooling features — supported by a scientific partnership with Northwestern University — its competitive price point and the inclusion of a smart adjustable base, make our latest innovation the superior choice for couples who need temperature relief,” said Annie Bloomquist, chief innovation officer, Sleep Number.
