
St. Peters, Missouri-based Innovative Sleep Technologies and its Symphony Sleep brand have launched a series of point-of-sale product demo videos to help retailers address staffing and training challenges.
According to IST President John Schulte, the adjustable base category is experiencing significant shifts in retailer needs and consumer awareness. He said a key trend emerging from the Las Vegas Winter Market was the disconnect between consumer interest in sleep health and their understanding of adjustable base technology. While consumer awareness about sleep’s impact on health is growing, many shoppers remain unfamiliar with the full capabilities and health benefits of modern adjustable bases. Retailers also expressed concerns over decreasing store traffic and the challenge of retaining experienced sales teams.
“Retailers are navigating multiple challenges in the adjustable base category, from inventory management to consumer education,” Schulte said. “The market also revealed a clear need for product differentiation and enhanced point-of-purchase support to help bridge the knowledge gap with consumers.”
According to a news release, consumers can scan a QR code to watch a short product demonstration video while interacting with the remote and base. Free to retail partners, the videos serve as a critical tool when the store is understaffed or experiencing a busy period when an RSA isn’t available.
Symphony Sleep’s approach is designed to align with retailers’ key priorities identified in market discussions, including product differentiation, reliable inventory availability and compelling value propositions. The company said its extensive range of accessories provides retailers with more merchandising options than competitive offerings, while maintaining stock levels to ensure consistent availability, the news release said.
