Welcome to this edition of “Take 5”. And we have none other than Mark Kinsley with Englander. Now, Mark, you’re celebrating 130 years. So, what does this anniversary mean to you?

Mark Kinsley
Our 130th anniversary means so much because as we look back at our history and our heritage, it’s informed everything we do in this amazing modern mattress world that we’re in today. So it’s been great to get all the old print ads and bring them back to the surface, put together new displays, and reflect on this hundred and 30th anniversary as we look to our past and get ready to celebrate our future.

Waynette Goodson
Product-wise, you’re taking one of yours. Your tension ease mattress and you’ve sort of refreshed it or taken it up a notch. Tell us about it.

Mark Kinsley
Yeah, we have our all-new Tension Ease H2, and it means to you that it is a hybrid mattress hybrid foam. And what’s great is the Tension Ease, a line of mattresses, was originally launched in 1957. And so, as part of the celebration, we wanted to bring back a name that had lots of trust and had lots of innovation as part of our history and make it fresh and modern as we go to the 130th year and get ready with our customers to celebrate with new products.

Waynette Goodson
Wow. Are there any other product lines that you’re going to go back and revisit?

Mark Kinsley
We have our all-new Everest collection. And in 1950, we were owned by Goodyear Rubber Tire Company and we had access to these amazing rubber foam formulations. And Englander became the first mattress brand to put latex into a mattress because Goodyear owned us. And so, as part of honoring that piece of our history and heritage, the Everest collection has our natural copper-infused latex and all kinds of other amazing ingredients, including our Englander Edge and our three-degree cooling coils.

So it’s really exciting to, like I said, tap into our past and use it to launch these new products.

Waynette Goodson
Yeah, it’s retro cool. It’s like the vintage cool. Everything old is new again. I like it. Well, Mark, thank you so much for your time today. Thank you for being a part of “Take 5”, and thank all of you for tuning in. And, as always, get a great night’s sleep.
