Farmingdale, New York-based mattress and sleep accessories supplier Bedgear is reinforcing its long-standing partnership with the American Cancer Society through online and in-store initiatives during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

The company said it will donate 5% of October pillow sales on Bedgear.com to the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer research. It also is taking $49.99 off the purchase of two pillows on Bedgear.com — the value of one seatbelt pillow designed for cancer patients — that Bedgear will donate to the ACS. The company also will donate one seatbelt pillow to the ACS for each Bedgear pillow fitting completed in participating retail stores in October — no purchase required.
Made with breathable Air-X fabric and easy-to-fasten Velcro clasps, Bedgear’s seatbelt pillow was created specifically to comfort and protect patients who have had mastectomies, ports or chest surgery during trips to treatment. For every seatbelt pillow sold on Bedgear.com, the company donates another one directly to the ACS. In 2024, Bedgear said it completed 1,250 fittings at 75 retail locations, with 1,250 seatbelt pillows donated to 25 American Cancer Society Hope Lodges across the country.
“At Bedgear, we believe comfort should extend beyond the bedroom,” said Taylor Alletto, Bedgear’s marketing manager and corporate social responsibility strategist.
“It should show up in meaningful ways for the people who need it most. Our partnership with the American Cancer Society allows us to turn our products into a source of relief and compassion for patients and families navigating some of life’s hardest moments.”
Alletto, who oversees Bedgear’s philanthropic efforts, will represent the ACS in the Irish Life Dublin Marathon on Oct. 26 in Dublin, Ireland. “Every mile and every pillow represent hope and resilience,” she said. “The goal isn’t just to provide comfort. It’s to inspire action and make a tangible difference for those impacted by cancer.”
The company said it also supports ACS events, including Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks, with seatbelt pillow donations to survivor tents — spaces that celebrate cancer survivors, families and friends at these events.
