Mebane, North Carolina-based luxury mattress manufacturer Kingsdown Inc. has launched a four-bed, higher-end, feature-packed collection called Indigo Dream.

According to a news release, the Indigo Dream is offered in tight-top firm, tight-top plush and Euro-top plush models. Each mattress has its own identity — designed with indigo blue covers, white fabric and an intricate paisley pattern in multiple dimensions. A follow-up to the original Vintage Couture three-piece Indigo Dream bed launched last winter, the collection features luxury fibers and foams and Wave Coil construction to match the naturally curved shape of the human body. The new mattresses are part of the brand’s high-end Vintage Couture collection, but priced at $8,000 to $10,000 in queen, just under the $11,000 top-of-line price.

“We all aspire to captivate someone’s senses, and the original Vintage Couture Indigo Dream was created to capture attention, to stop people in their tracks in the hallway on the 14th floor of Building C and entice them to walk into our showroom to experience all that we offer,” said Kingsdown Chairman Michael James, who designed the collection. “The reality is we sometimes get away from the idea that the bed in the window should sell, that it’s important to transact with a high-fashion look. The truth is that we didn’t actually expect people to walk in and say, ‘I want that.’ But they did.”

“So often in couture apparel fashion, the runway introductions that turn heads and make headlines are never actually seen on the street,” said Frank Hood, president and CEO of Kingsdown. “These new Vintage Couture beds have been designed to not only offer a stunning presentation on retailers’ floors, but to represent real value to the consumer when compared to other luxury beds swimming in the $15,000 to $25,000 range in the marketplace. They look great, feel great and offer a superlative margin for our dealers.”
