Lonnie Scheps Retires from Purecare

Industry veteran and Purecare executive Lonnie Scheps is retiring this month after 40 years in the home furnishings industry with some of the top manufacturers and suppliers in the business. 

For the past 10 years, Scheps has served as vice president of market diversification for Purecare and contributed to remarkable growth for the Phoenix, Arizona-based company’s big box retail, e-commerce, specialty retail and hospitality business. 

According to a release, Scheps’ key contributions for the wellness-focused bedding brand included launching Purecare in the hospitality segment, managing some of the company’s largest accounts, and leveraging his decades of experience in pillow sales to help Purecare remain competitive and innovative in the category. 

“It has been a true privilege to work alongside Lonnie over the past decade. His deep industry expertise, coupled with his genuine care for some of our most important customers, has been instrumental in fostering strong partnerships and driving the growth and success of both Purecare and our clients. As he steps into retirement, we extend our heartfelt gratitude and wish him all the best in this exciting new chapter,” said Sean Bergman, Purecare chief operating officer. 

Scheps’ career includes key roles in sales and marketing for leading companies such as Carpenter Co., Sinomax USA, Hudson Industries, Decorite and Northern Feather Canada, the release said. 

Upon retirement, Scheps plans to play tennis with his wife while continuing to travel and cheer on the Houston Astros.
