Woburn, Mass.-based bedding manufacturer and licensing group Spring Air International has extended its license with Sumber Dinamik SDN BHD, a supplier to manufacturers and retailers in the Malaysian market, for another 25 years. The deal is part of the company’s new strategy to create longer-term international partnerships and follows similar long-term agreements in Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates.
According to a news release, Selangor, Malaysia-based Sumber Dinamik is part of NHL Manufacturing, a specialist in polyurethane foam operations and mattress OEMs that has been in business for more than three decades. The company began its relationship with Spring Air three years ago and has placed the brand with 130 retailers in the Southeast Asian market.
“Sumber Dinamik has been a strong partner for us and is a leader with far-reaching plans for Southeast Asia,” said Nick Bates, president and CEO of Spring Air International. “We are thrilled to extend our already successful relationship with a long-term commitment that benefits both companies.”
Bates added that the long-term licensee agreement is part of a broader international brand strategy to anchor relationships with proven manufacturers for longer terms.
“We believe that long-term deals internationally are more beneficial for all parties. The licensee can more strategically plan and invest in our brand, knowing they have a longer runway to reap the rewards. Local dealers and their customers also benefit because they can rely on a strong local partner for many years for their own planning and investment purposes,” Bate said.

Currently, Sumber Dinamik produces Spring Air’s Back Supporter and Four Seasons collections for the Malaysian market and recently added its luxury Chattam & Wells lineup, the news release said.
