High Point Market Trends: Wellness, Cooling, Split-Heads & Luxury

High Point Market is sure to have lots of products that will work on retail floors in the year to come.

High Point Market is just around the corner. On April 26-30, exhibitors and shoppers will flock to High Point, North Carolina, to showcase and see the latest products.

Taking a look at the trends spotted at the winter Las Vegas Market, along with news releases from High Point exhibitors that were released in March, here’s a snapshot of what you can expect.

Several adjustable base makers are incorporating lift, tilt and other functionality into bases to provide affordable options to those with mobility or health issues. For example, Natick, Massachusetts-based Customatic offers its Hi-Lo accessory. Placed beneath an adjustable base, Hi-Lo can raise a bed 14 inches and tilt 10 degrees forward. Rancho Cucamonga, California-based  South Bay International’s ErgoCare adjustable chair bed
and High Low Lift adjustable base focus on mobility, independence and wellness for aging consumers. Knoxville, Tennessee-based Mlily USA will debut its MS600 adjustable base, featuring tri-zone lumbar massage, zero-clearance wall hugger design, independent head/foot/lumbar adjustments, USB ports and LEDs. On the mattress side, Farmingdale, New York-based Bedgear’s modular mattress design allows users to adjust firmness levels over time, ensuring long-term comfort and adaptability.

The demand for cooling is hotter than ever. South Bay International will introduce Sofinity Foam with enhanced breathability and cooling properties, addressing overheating issues associated with traditional memory foams. Mlily USA’s WellFlex ICE model and Midnight hybrid model incorporate temperature-regulating materials for long-lasting cooling. The Black Diamond collection from Rancho Dominguez-based Diamond Mattress features Diamond Ice Flex, a mineral-based cooling technology that pulls heat away from the body for more than 12 hours. Bedgear’s M3 Night Ice, M5 Performance and M5 Night Ice mattresses integrate multilayer cooling technologies such as Air-X mesh, air vents and Ver-Tex instant-cooling covers, actively dissipating body heat for comfort. And New Brunswick, New Jersey-based Bedding Industries of America’s three-model Eclipse Ice collection is described as cool, cooler and coolest.

More Choices with Split-Head Beds: A Rising Trend in Sleep Customization

Split-head mattresses have moved beyond king sizes into more commonplace queen sizes. The appeal is easy to see. In addition to personalized comfort, split-head mattresses lead to a higher retail sales ticket by adding an adjustable base and new sheets.

Elevating Sleep with Technology: Features to Watch at High Point

Tech enhancements to mattresses and bases, such as haptic technology, sonic massage, immersive sound, Bluetooth connectivity and apps generating detailed sleep data, continue to grow.

Luxury Sleep Defined: What’s New in High-End Bedding at High Point?

The luxury mattress segment continues to thrive, with manufacturers featuring high-end materials and artisan craftsmanship. Norfolk, Virginia-based Paramount Sleep Co. expanded its premium offerings with Hypnos Whole Sleep wool series and A.H. Beard Sleepsmith, featuring hand-
layered construction, premium wool and organic latex. Newark, New Jersey-based Shifman Mattress Co. added its Timeless collection, and BIA took a step up with its Eastman House Heritage Luxe collection.

Mattress producers continue to integrate visual merchandising into their product lines, building graphic elements into their fabrics and labels to help retail sales associates sell better. Along the same lines, dark ticking ruled many showrooms in Las Vegas. Touches of Lurex added a little sparkle and, in many cases, designated step-ups.

Complete the Sleep System: Highlighting Profitable Accessories

The push toward building accessorized sleep systems to increase incremental sales of pillows, toppers, sheets and mattress protectors continues to be a valuable strategy for building traffic and ongoing relationships with retailers and consumers.

“Seventy percent of consumers walk away from a mattress purchase without buying pillows and all the top-of-bed stuff,” said Derek Leishman, national sales director for Mlily USA. “So, those are dollars that are walking out the door. And that’s one of the reasons that we’ve really doubled down on becoming a one-stop shop for bedding and enhancing our accessory lineup because there’s plenty of opportunity for retailers to make more money by focusing on accessories.”

Paramount Sleep Co. will return to High Point Market with the Hypnos Whole Sleep wool series, which is made with ethically sourced and traceable materials.

Sleep Savvy is pleased to see a continued emphasis on sustainability. Paramount’s Hypnos Whole Sleep wool series incorporates Woolkeepers certified wool, organic latex and recycled materials. South Bay International’s EcoCore line uses plant-based, renewable materials to reduce dependence on petroleum-based components. Mlily USA’s WellFlex line integrates sustainable materials with advanced comfort technology. Diamond Mattress’ Ethos Avani Hybrid includes natural latex, microcoils and a foam-encased coil unit for an eco-friendly sleep experience. BIA’s Harvest Green embraces natural components.

Streamlining Sales: How Manufacturers are Supporting Retailers

Manufacturers recognize the importance of supporting retail partners with easy-to-merchandise collections. Diamond’s Dreamstage 2.0 is designed for high-velocity sales. Mlily USA focuses on a “one-stop sleep shop” approach, simplifying product lines for stronger retailer engagement. Paramount’s anniversary Special Edition beds and South Bay’s tailored retailer offerings reinforce a strategy for high consumer appeal and strong margins.
