North Brunswick, New Jersey-based mattress manufacturer and licensing group Bedding Industries of America has hired former Resident Home executive Christopher S. Commins to lead West Coast sales as business development manager.

According to a news release, Commins was with Resident Home for six years, starting as their National Account Manager, pioneering the retail channel of the Nectar and DreamCloud brands and was awarded the Circle of Excellence Award in both 2021 and 2023. Most recently, he was promoted to director of sales for the Western U.S. and Canada, where he continued to work with retailers across North America and lead a team of national account and regional managers.
Prior to joining Resident Home, Commins spent four years with the AVB/BrandSource buying group, beginning as a region manager and working closely with their members and vendors to deliver profit-driving solutions that impacted all aspects of running a retail business. His background in mattresses ultimately led to the creation of the director of business development role for its mattress division. Previous mattress industry experience includes regional and national account roles with Sealy Mattress Company, Spring Air, Kingsdown and E.S. Kluft.
According to BIA CEO Jared Carlitz, Commins is tasked with further expanding BIA’s growing business on the West Coast, deepening relationships with current retailers and opening up new markets. Commins currently supervises a team of five.
