Newark, New Jersey-based luxury mattress manufacturer Shifman Mattress Co. has restructured its leadership and sales teams, hiring industry veteran Mark Quinn, promoting long-time company leader Phil Zucker and adding two regional sales managers.
Mark Quinn has been named senior vice president of sales and marketing for the 131-year-old family-owned and operated business. In this newly created leadership position, Quinn will work closely with company president Bill Hammer.
“Mark has the acumen and strategic approach to the business that will undoubtedly elevate our marketing initiatives and forge relationships with high-profile retailers that will position Shifman to exceed industry expectations and redefine luxury sleep,” Hammer said.
Quinn has more than 35 years of mattress industry experience in product development, marketing and sales. He previously held executive roles at leading companies such as Mattress Firm, Leggett & Platt, Sherwood Bedding and Serta. Quinn also co-founded the digital media platform The FAM and co-authored a best-selling book on Amazon called “Come Back to Bed.”
“I have always admired Shifman for their unwavering commitment to quality and the values of a family-owned business. This dedication not only inspired me to join their team but also fuels our strategic vision,” said Quinn.
Phil Zucker, Shifman’s general manager since 2012, has been promoted to executive vice president. In this new role, Zucker will continue to lead all facets of the company, including manufacturing, sales, marketing, and customer service.
“Phil has been a dedicated and trusted leader to oversee Shifman’s day-to-day operations, ensuring that strategic plans are effectively developed and executed. His promotion is a testament to his significant impact on our company’s success and reflects our confidence in his ability to drive the company’s continued growth and operational excellence,” Hammer said.
Shifman further strengthened its sales force with the addition of two territory sales managers. Kaylie Schiavetta will oversee the Northeast region, while Jeremy Aston will lead the Southwest region.
Schiavetta comes from a background in sales account management and project leadership. Her previous role was director of strategic accounts at Bedgear Performance Bedding and she has worked for top consumer brands including Steve Madden and Guess.
Aston has worked in strategic sales planning and market development with industry leaders such as Serta Simmons, Purple and Tempur-Sealy and managed multiple retail stores in Boise, Idaho. His experience will be integral to Shifman’s expansion efforts.
“I’m equally excited to welcome Kaylie and Jeremy, who bring valuable experience and fresh perspectives that will be instrumental as we continue our strategic expansion in new markets and deepen our valued retail partnerships,” Hammer said.
