As mattress design grows more complex and comfort layers stack higher, meeting federal flammability standards has become increasingly critical. As a result, Precision Textiles has launched its IQFit Performance Plus 2.0 FR sock.

“Our customers are turning to us for forward-thinking solutions to help them maintain positive momentum during a very challenging time,” said Bob O’Connell, executive vice president of marketing and merchandising for the Fairfield, New Jersey-based supplier. “That’s why our research and development team continues to push the innovation envelope — developing components that give our partners an FR solution that aligns with today’s market conditions.
The new Plus 2.0 FR sock provides maximum flame protection with multiple weight options and sizes that deliver customers a more cost effective, streamlined approach to their CFR 1633 components needs, according to a news release. Part of the company’s IQFit family of products, the new sock is glass free and delivers government compliance even with the highest fuel load mattress designs.
The product was engineered by Garrett Graven, Precision Textiles’ product development manager and resident textile expert. “Our goal with the new and improved sock was to optimize the balance between materials performance and manufacturing efficiency,” Graven said. “The enhanced char strength and coverage area allow bedding manufacturers to maintain compliance with CFR 1633 standards with our lighter weight, high-performance design. It’s a targeted solution that helps our customers continue with their initiatives more efficiently, especially in today’s fiercely competitive marketplace.”
According to the release, Precision Textiles’ IQFit Glass Free product line carries UL Greenguard certification and the U.S. Department of Agriculture BioPreferred certification, underscoring the company’s commitment to low chemical emissions and the use of renewable materials.
