So I’ve been asked about something I tell people a lot about, which is make sleep a priority. I do say that a lot, and I cannot overstate that it has to be a priority in your life in order for you to reap the many benefits. So by making it a priority, that means you schedule everything else secondarily to sufficient sleep, make sure you’ve allotted enough time every day to get the sleep you need, and then also make it a priority by how you look at it.

Do you have a bad attitude about slate? Historically, we’ve glamorized an idealized people that say they get by on a little bit of sleep. We’ve looked at it as a character flaw. We have to look at sleep as the biological need that it is, give it the respect it deserves and warrants, and we have to look at it through a completely different lens.
