Waregem, Belgium-based textile and sewn covers supplier BekaertDeslee has been recognized as a multiple winner at the German Innovation Awards 2025, presented by the German Design Council.

According to a news release, BekaertDeslee’s Purifair, Dream + and Infinity Cover products were all awarded in various categories. The German Innovation Awards celebrate forward-thinking products, technologies and services that provide outstanding added value for users, industries and the environment. In 2025 alone, the awards received more than 460 submissions from 27 countries.
Purifair, a patented, non-toxic odor elimination technology, was recognized with the GIA2025-11409 award in the excellence in business-to-business category for transformative solutions and materials and surfaces. BekaertDeslee said Purifair instantly neutralizes unpleasant chemical smells associated with new mattresses, is safe for skin contact and free of harmful byproducts. It was developed in collaboration with a University of Cambridge spin-off and designed to enhance consumer comfort and simplify production challenges.
Dream +, which received the GIA2025-11404 award in the same category as Purifair, is a sleep technology designed to help users fall asleep faster, sleep more deeply and wake refreshed. According to company officials, Dream + is clinically proven to improve overall sleep quality by more than 45% and releases active ingredients inhaled as users sleep. The product utilizes bio-based microcapsules infused with Australian tea tree extract, which naturally stimulate melatonin production to support healthy sleep cycles.
The Infinity Cover, awarded GIA2025-11421 in the excellence in business-to-consumer category for interior and living, is a durable, fully recyclable mattress cover constructed from 100% polyester, including 91% recycled content. It features an integrated digital product passport and is designed to deliver transparency for consumers and recyclers and responsible end-of-life product management, the news release said.
“This recognition from the German Innovation Awards is a proud moment for BekaertDeslee and a testament to the hard work of our global teams,” said Peter Hostyn, head of research and design functional technologies at BekaertDeslee. “Innovation is at the heart of everything we do — not only to improve sleep quality, but to lead the industry in sustainable design and technological advancement. These awards validate our mission to shape the future of sleep through bold, meaningful innovation.”
