Relief Bed International will immediately send 100 Relief Beds to the World Vision disaster response warehouse in Washington State in response to the devastating fires in Maui, Hawaii.

These disaster relief efforts will go on for months as residents live in shelters and cohabitate with family and friends while they rebuild, according to a news release.

Relief mattresses are a key part of disaster response as they help people get a better night’s sleep to have the strength and hope for the next day, company officials said.

The nonprofit group is requesting gifts to help offset the 100-bed donation to World Vision, a faith-based humanitarian aid, development and advocacy organization. Further, its goal is to always have 1,000 beds in stock for immediate response efforts.

To help meet its goal, the charity will kick off programs this fall that will create a steady stream of funding. “We appreciate your prayerful support on these ventures as we want to be prepared, at all times, to respond to needs like these,” said Scott Smalling, founder of the Seattle-based charity.
