King Koil Will Host City Of Hope 2024 Kick-Off Event At Winter Las Vegas Market

AVONDALE, ArizonaKing Koil, a global leader in the manufacture of quality mattress products, is kicking off City of Hope’s 2024 fundraising season by hosting a cocktail reception at Winter Las Vegas Market. The reception, in cooperation with City of Hope’s International Home Furnishings Industry Group, will be held on Sunday, January 28th, from 4 to 5 p.m., in the King Koil Showroom, B-1200. All Market attendees are welcome.

City of Hope (COH) is a California-based research hospital for cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening diseases. King Koil has been an active partner of COH for the past five years, supporting the fight against cancer and other illnesses with donations from their sales.

“The home furnishings industry continues to uphold its enduring tradition of raising awareness for cancer research and treatments,” said David Binke, chief executive officer of King Koil. “The cocktail receptions is a great way for our community to come together in support of this important cause, and I encourage anyone who has yet to get involved to join us in the King Koil showroom to network and learn more.”

Binke himself will be honored with COH’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024West Coast Golf & Tennis Tournament later this year in Coto de Caza, California, along with Catherine and Richard Frinier, co-founders and principals of the Richard Frinier Design Studio.

“I’m honored and grateful to be a Lifetime Achievement Award nominee and we are grateful for the opportunity to help launch the annual campaign for this worthy organization,” Binke said. “King Koil’s partnership with City of Hope has been extremely rewarding, as we continue the fight against cancer and the development of effective treatments. Supporting philanthropic endeavors is a priority for us, particularly when it involves contributing to a cause that deeply resonates with our company.”

In addition to his work for City of Hope, Binke has expanded King Koil’s philanthropic giving to provide funding and programs to Boys & Girls Clubs in Arizona and Florida, often in conjunction with major annual bedding industry events that include executives from other companies.

Since joining top 15 bedding producer King Koil in 2017 as its chief executive officer, Binke has made substantial contributions during his time in the mattress industry. As a 42-year industry veteran, he has transitioned King Koil’s domestic business, over the last five years, to a direct-to-retail model, while expanding manufacturing capacity and overseeing an active international network. Today, King Koil is known throughout the industry for innovation in the premium and ultra-premium segments, and for bedding solutions with a strong focus on technology, wellness, and sustainability, with the luxury characteristics consumers want now.

A leading global mattress manufacturer, King Koil supports more than 30 licensees in more than 90 countries where King Koil mattresses are manufactured and sold. Headquartered in the Chicago suburb of Willowbrook, Ill., the company has a long, rich history that reaches back to 1898 when Samuel Bronstein founded United States Bedding in St. Paul, Minn. What started out as six employees in a small factory has continued to grow. During the 1930s, U.S. Bedding improved the bedspring and was looking for a new name for its product. From there, the King Koil name was born.
