Englander Announces Leadership Search. Mark Kinsley

CHICAGO (February 12, 2024) – Celebrating 130 years of innovation and quality, Englander embarks on an exciting new growth phase that includes an executive search. This move comes as Mark Kinsley, the president and CEO, transitions to an Englander advisory role and begins shifting his focus to operating The FAM.

The Englander company, which has flourished under the ownership of three industry powerhouses (Corsicana, Southerland, and Bedding Industries of America), will begin searching for a sales-focused executive leader.

“Both Englander and The FAM have experienced remarkable growth, with each entity supporting the other’s expansion. As I considered where I could deepen my impact and envisioned Englander’s exciting future, it became clear that the company’s foundation is rock-solid and the group needs a sales-minded professional to guide the next phase,” said Mark Kinsley, president and CEO of Englander. “Even though The FAM will become my main focus, I am excited to continue as a strategic advisor assisting with Englander’s mission to create exceptional products that deliver life-changing sleep.”

Englander’s Differentiation

Englander is different from the majority of licensed mattress brands, many of which lack factory ownership; three major mattress manufacturers, collectively operating 14 factories, wholly own the brand. This unique structure positions the organization distinctively in the mattress retail market, enabling it to deliver consistent, high-quality products nationwide.

“Our group delivers consistent products coast-to-coast and border to border,” said Bryan Smith, CEO of Southerland, an Englander owner. “We service all 50 states and we’re excited to expand on a legacy of excellence that started in 1894 and continues today.”

As the brand adds large regional and national accounts, the search for a sales-minded executive takes center stage.

“This transition is a strategic step in fortifying Englander’s market position. It embodies our dedication to progress and our belief in the power of collaboration to unlock unprecedented levels of success and customer satisfaction,” said Stuart Carlitz, CEO of BIA.

An executive search will ensue focusing on individuals with a track record of securing product placements with national and large regional retailers.

Englander’s owners expressed their excitement about ushering in this new era, and pointed out that under Kinsley’s stewardship Englander has grown and thrived, paving a path for the future.

“Mark’s strategic approach and commitment have been instrumental in reinforcing the brand’s heritage while steering it towards a future of innovation and market leadership. As Mark shifts his focus, we are confident that the foundation we have laid together will greatly contribute to driving our success,” said Eric Rhea, Corsicana’s CEO.
