Tiami, a new luxury mattress brand created by Leesa Sleep co-founders Jamie Diamonstein and David Wolfe, has launched through an exclusive retail partnership with Design Within Reach. The brand is designed to address the most common sleep challenges, including back and shoulder pain, partner-induced disturbances and conflicting firmness preferences, in a single, high-performance luxury mattress.
“Over a decade ago, Jamie and I came together to fix a broken retail experience in the mattress industry with a premium, direct-to-consumer solution,” said David Wolfe, co-founder and CEO of Tiami, based in Virginia Beach, Virginia. “Two years following the sale of our first mattress venture, we’re launching Tiami, a new brand with a different mission. It’s not about disruption, it’s about refinement. Our former customers have grown and evolved, and so have we. We understand the category more deeply now. We understand the customer better. This time, we’re not chasing scale; we’re focused on creating something truly exceptional.”
“I believe in simple solutions to difficult design problems,” said Jamie Diamonstein, co-founder and chief product officer. “That’s why we didn’t over-engineer the Tiami mattress. Rather, we found the right combination of state-of-the-art components and fine-tuned them to work together seamlessly. It’s the most advanced mattress I’ve ever created and, in many ways, it’s the simplest. Because, to me, simplicity is the very essence of luxury.”
According to a news release, the Tiami mattress is handcrafted in the U.S and integrates the benefits of plush, medium, and firm support into one sleep system. It promotes deeper recovery and consistently better, engineered around core performance areas proven to enhance sleep quality: natural cooling, pressure relief, minimized motion transfer, edge support, and long-term durability with no body indentations — even after a simulated 10 years of use.
Its layered hybrid design responds in real time to different body shapes, weights and sleep positions. A comfort layer made from Energex, an open-cell material, delivers natural pushback and continuous airflow. A high-performance memory foam recovery layer helps relieve pain and pressure while promoting proper spinal alignment. Its support system, a double-pocketed coil base with Energex pods, provides motion isolation, adaptive support and full-body alignment. Two rows of reinforced coils also provide edge-to-edge stability and maximize the usable sleep surface, the news release said.
Company officials said Tiami is DWR’s only third-party branded mattress partner and its first and only hybrid mattress. Priced at $3,000 in queen, the Tiami mattress is available at DWR.com and Tiami.com, with select DWR stores to follow in June. A portion of future revenue will support sleep equity programs focused on mental health, particularly among young mothers.
