Robert Richards, the owner and managing director of Mattress Concierge, a sleep products supplier to hospitality properties, has died at age 51.

Richards joined Mattress Concierge in 2017 as a sales representative. Shortly after, he secured the largest deal in the company’s history, 1,700 beds for the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut. Richards acquired the company in 2020 when its founder, Jeff Rogers, retired.

According to a news release, Skip Naboicheck, president of Gold Bond Mattress, will oversee the Mattress Concierge operations moving forward. As manufacturing partners, the two companies work closely with one another and Gold Bond Mattress, a Hartford, Connecticut-based company will manage Mattress Concierge on an interim basis.

“Rob was most proud of his children. He loved sharing in their accomplishments in sports, school and, overall, the people they were growing up to be,” said Skip Naboicheck, president of Gold Bond Mattress. “He also enjoyed spending time with his many groups of friends and hiking with his beloved dog Finn. Rob had a warm heart and a terrific sense of humor that endeared him to many.”
