Spring Air Adds Sound Sleep to Licensee Roster Following Everton Mattress Merger

Bedding manufacturer and licensing group Spring Air International has made Sound Sleep its newest domestic licensee following Sound Sleep’s recent merger with Everton Mattress.

According to a news release, Sound Sleep has been part of the Pacific Northwest sleep products industry for more than 30 years and has carried Spring Air in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming and Montana for the past several years. Everton Mattress began as a small bedding company in Logan, Utah, in 1924 and now occupies an 80,000-square-foot facility in Filer, Idaho. The new company is known as Everton Mattress Factory Northwest.

“We are happy for Sound Sleep and Everton Mattress joining together to create a real juggernaut in a very strategic region of the country. We look forward to working with John Larsen, Chris Sanders and their respective teams to deepen the penetration of our brand in their territory,” said Nick Bates, president and CEO of Woburn, Massachusetts-based Spring Air International.

“Acquiring an interest in Everton Mattress made perfect sense due to the tremendous synergy between our companies,” said John Larsen, CEO of Sound Sleep, headquartered in Lacey, Washington. “Combining forces to capitalize on the best of Sound Sleep and Everton Mattress makes us both stronger and creates a regional powerhouse — enabling us to utilize the sales and marketing expertise of Chris Sanders, while expanding distribution and improving service to all customers in the region while consolidating redundant functions.”

“Strategically, it strengthens our manufacturing capabilities, fuels product innovation, and expands the Spring Air presence throughout the Pacific Northwest,” said Chris Sanders, co-owner of Everton Mattress Factory Northwest. “This collaboration allows us to scale more efficiently, invest in our people and processes and drive growth in factory operations through enhanced quality, consistency and pricing. Our retail partnerships will thrive as a result of this milestone.”
