Innovative Sleep Technologies, a manufacturer of adjustable bed bases headquartered in St. Peters, Missouri, has created a new adjustable base lineup for its Symphony Sleep brand that offers retail partners the ability to reduce freight and storage costs.
According to a news release, Symphony Sleep offers retail customers significant savings as container freight prices continue to rise. This provides advantages throughout the supply chain, including smaller cubic dimensions and lower delivery costs for outbound freight; maximized container capacity for customers purchasing factory direct; loading more products per truck for greater savings on domestic freight for FOB warehouse fulfillment; additional cubic storage in retail distribution centers and stores; more dedicated space for other products; better UPS rates; and easier product handling during in-home installations.
“As freight and labor costs continue to increase, maximizing every significant pain point of logistics is paramount, without sacrificing product load ratings or build quality. It really is just an outcome of our core competency which is engineering quality products that are best-in-class in every benchmark the market has to qualify what makes a ‘good’ adjustable base,” said John Schulte, president of Innovative Sleep Technologies.
According to Schulte, Symphony Sleep’s 2023 lineup increases the loading quantities per SKU compared to the brand’s 2023 lineup: the king-size ES200 adjustable base loads 50% more per container, the king-size ES500 loads 42% more, and the queen-size ES600 loads 36% more. Schulte calculated that the new lineup could return up to $0.50 for every dollar spent on inbound and outbound freight and storage.
“The return on investment in our base lineup is as much of a game changer as is the quality and technology that Symphony Sleep bases offer to retailers,” Schulte said.
