HSM Solutions, a leading supplier of components for the furniture and bedding industries based in Hickory, North Carolina, has opened its newest facility, HSM OT Midwest, located in Barberton, Ohio.
“The new Barberton facility marks a significant expansion of our footprint for our wire division in a key market,” said Tim Becker, president of HS Manufacturing at HSM Solutions. “By investing in this cutting-edge facility, we are increasing production capacity, creating new jobs and better serving our customers.”
Company officials said the Barberton plant is home to the most modern wire heat-treating line in North America, allowing the company to enhance efficiency, improve product quality and expand its wire product capacity. The technology used at the facility is also environmentally friendly, producing no hazardous waste streams, aligning with HSM’s sustainability efforts.
According to a news release, HSM Solutions plans to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony in with the town of Barberton and offer individual customer tours of the new facility. The plant will bring 16-18 new jobs to the Barberton area. HSM is currently hiring for additional shifts, providing opportunities for skilled workers and exploring community partnership opportunities in the region.
As part of HSM Solutions’ broader growth strategy, the Barberton facility will help diversify the company’s business beyond its core home furnishings market. By increasing its footprint, HSM positions itself closer to key customers and creates additional capacity for higher-end wire products produced at its other wire facilities in Conover, North Carolina, and Phoenix, the news release said.
