For some adults, a stuffed animal or other comfort object remains part of the bedtime routine. A YouGov survey of U.S. adults found that nearly 25% of respondents said they had regularly slept with a stuffed animal as an adult. The reason may be simple: At bedtime, people look for comfort, familiarity, and calm. Time magazine has reported that adults sometimes use comfort objects to ease stress, loneliness, or anxiety. If something soft and familiar helps the night feel more settled, that may be reason enough.
