Did you know that teenagers need 9.25 hours of sleep every 24 hours? That’s a lot of sleep. And too many teenagers aren’t getting that. And there are a lot of challenges they face. Think of the things that we usually attribute to teenage angst. We’ve got irritability, grumpiness, defiance, anxiety, depression, all kinds of things like that are actually related to sleep.
School start times is a major challenge. When teenagers have to be in school at 7 or 7:30 in the morning. They’re probably not going to be able to get the 9.25 hours of sleep every night. Let them sleep in. They need it.
